Nursery near Blackheath

Blossoming Minds is on Woolwich Road in Greenwich SE10, one train stop from Blackheath station at Maze Hill, or a ten-minute drive with free parking on site. Families from Blackheath tend to be deliberate about where their children spend their early years. We think that instinct is worth trusting, and we would rather you visit and judge for yourself than take our word for it. We take children from 3 months to 5 years. Why families choose us

Our approach

Most nurseries ask children to adapt to the environment. We designed ours the other way around. The baby suite is built for the needs of children under two: calm, sensory-rich, staffed by practitioners who work only with this age group. The sensory room gives children with SEND, or those who need a quieter space, somewhere that actually serves them. The preschool room is where children start to read, reason and take genuine responsibility for small things. The sleep room, dining hall and Energy Hub, our indoor grassed adventure space, account for the rest of the day. Nothing is an afterthought.

In practice

Our team holds qualifications up to Level 7. Several members have worked in early years for 25 years or more. Our director brings a career in nursing and midwifery to her leadership of the setting. Most of the team speak three or four languages, which matters in Greenwich where many children are growing up bilingual. An in-house chef prepares fresh, balanced meals every day, including world flavours and full dietary accommodation. These are not selling points: they are simply how we run the nursery.

For families in Blackheath

Blackheath and Greenwich share a postcode boundary and a park. Children at Blossoming Minds visit Greenwich Park regularly, which means the place your family already loves is part of your child's weekly life. We are open from 7:30am to 6:30pm across 51 weeks of the year, with full-year, term-time and ad-hoc sessions available. The train from Blackheath to Maze Hill takes a few minutes, and the nursery is a short walk from there. If you prefer to drive, parking is free. The best way to judge is to visit - [book a tour here](/book).

What Greenwich families say

The families already with us can tell you more than we ever could. What they notice most is how their children come home talking, whether that is counting in Spanish, reciting phrases in Mandarin, or describing exactly what they made for lunch. That tends to say everything.

  • After visiting quite a few nurseries across Greenwich, we felt genuinely relieved when we found Blossoming Minds. The staff really understood how to make the settling-in period work, taking time to build our child's confidence at their own pace rather than rushing things. What's struck us most is how much they communicate with us about the day - we always know what our little one has been doing and how they're getting on. The outdoor learning is brilliant too, and they seem so much more engaged and curious since starting. It's clear the team genuinely care about each child's development, and that's made all the difference for our family.

  • A diverse team that genuinely cares for the kids. My daughter started at 11 months, now 21 months and all you have to do to make her smile is talk about the staff and her friends from nursery. It was a real find for us!! Out little lady waits outside patiently until the door opens and runs in all excited every day. She is well fed and sleeps better there than at home! Great space on the inside (don't let the outside deceive you), air conditioned in Summer, adapted rooms for each age group, but with occasional joint activities. Daily trips to a park weather permitting. You can leave your foldable buggy. Accessible from Westcombe Park Station, a good choice of bus routes, too.

  • I'm so happy with my son’s experience here, he’s 2 and has absolutely thrived since starting. The nursery are always offering jam packed experiences for the children from trying out cooking to exploring local places. The staff are truly wonderful. So friendly, approachable, and clearly passionate about what they do. It’s such a comfort as a parent to know he’s in such caring hands. The senior management team are equally lovely and always available to support, especially during those early, nerve wracking days of settling in.
